Our Board

We have five board members who are volunteers and are passionate about the work we do. Their experience helps them make decisions about the policy and direction of the organisation.

Ben Thornton (Chair) – Ben is a solicitor partner in Wilsons LLP Property & Commercial Litigation team. He trained with Wilsons and joined the litigation team on qualification. Ben was made Partner in 2010 and is now the team leader for the Commercial Litigation team. He deals with both property and commercial disputes, acting for both claimants and defendants.  His clients include landed estates, private individuals, manufacturing companies and charities.

Simon Cook – Simon had an expensive career in the British Army and has been supporting STFH for many years.

Tim Foster – Tim’s career was in HR management roles for multinational companies in the IT and banking sectors.   He has served as a magistrate on the Wiltshire Bench since 2009 and is a server at Salisbury Cathedral.  He joined the board in 2025.

Gordon Pardy – Following a career in the defence industry specialising in Project Management and Client Relationship Management, Gordon became a trustee of STFH in 2008 and served as Chair for eight years. The Charity Commission rules required him to stand down after nine years, and for the following six years he headed up the Trust’s fundraising activities. He was delighted to return to the Board in 2024 and continues to lead on fundraising.

Debbie Pearce – Debbie has an NHS background spanning 35 years and is a registered member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, specialising in financial planning and budgetary control for businesses.
